Boris Johnson has been on a fasting diet in which he misses out meals in an attempt to lose weight, friends have told The Times.
The prime minister has been trying to lose weight after Covid-19 left him in intensive care last year. He has attributed his difficulty in fighting off the virus with being “too fat”, having weighed 15st 7lb before his admission to hospital.
Mr Johnson has since significantly increased his levels of exercise, including runs around the gardens of Buckingham Palace, and has taken on a personal trainer.
