Eamonn Holmes And Ruth Langsford Take Massive Step To Get Fit

British presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have vowed to get fit after they were axed from ITV breakfast show This Morning.

The husband-and-wife duo had served as This Morning presenters for 14 years, but ITV recently announced that they would be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary as part of a wider scheduling shakeup.

Following the shock announcement, Eamon and Ruth have revealed their plans to convert their garage into a home gym as they seek to focus on their health and fitness.

Eamonn, 61, has already undergone a staggering weight loss journey, shedding three stone in the last five years. The presenter now weighs 15 stone.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ruth, 60, outlined the couple’s intensive fitness plans, explaining: ‘My vision is to get a weights bench in the garage and spend 30 minutes everyday on a joint routine.’

One of the couple’s key focuses will be on bone strengthening exercises, as they hope to avoid contracting osteoporosis.

Eamonn went on to tell the same publication that he sees January as a great time to get in shape, saying: ‘I genuinely believe in New Years’ resolutions.

‘It’s a great time to take stock to repair your habits, to improve your life.’

Eamonn has resorted to a variety of weight loss techniques in the past, including juicing, fasting for 12 hours, pilates and walking his dog Maggie.

Sources close to Eamonn and Ruth have claimed that the couple has been advised not to address the This Morning debacle in order to avoid missing out on future opportunities.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ruth and Eamonn are obviously upset and feel humiliated about being put out to pasture.

‘But they’ve been advised to keep schtum or risk losing more work. It could damage their brand if they lash out.’

The representatives of Eamonn, Ruth and ITV have been contacted for comment on this matter.
