A telly diet guru reckons that swapping sugary breakfast cereal for leftover roast dinners will lead to “effortless weight loss”.
Dr Rangan Chatterjee, of BBC’s Doctor in the House, says tucking in to spicy curries first thing will also work.
The mind and body expert said breakfast staples like granola and toast with jam play havoc with our blood sugar levels and leave us craving sugar for the rest of the day.
The best-selling author is now urging those battling with their weight to turn their eating habits upside-down.

In his book Feel Great Lose Weight – featured in the latest edition of Health and Wellbeing magazine – Dr Chatterjee says waking up to leftover food “can be life-changing.”
The 43-year-old told how one patient, Alan, struggled to lose his spare tyre.
“I had to tell him his blood sugar took him on a rollercoaster of short highs and deep crashes,” he said.
“It all began with his granola breakfast. As soon as he ate it, sugar began racing around his system.”
Alan was left feeling “starving, weak and shaky” but after revamping what he ate for breakfast, the fat disappeared.
Dr Frankie Phillips of the British Dietetic Association said: “We agree a substantial breakfast is good, but don’t think leftovers are the way forward.
“Breakfast is a chance to have a meal low in salt and sugar, like wholegrain cereal with milk or yoghurt and nuts or seeds and fruit for protein and fibre.”
