Major Macro Mistakes – Revealed!
Macro nutrition is for everyone and using macros as a tool to guide your weight loss or weight management is pretty simple. But, if you’re making these four mistakes, macros won’t work for you.
MISTAKE NUMBER ONE: You’re obsessed with set macro numbers. You’re using the same numbers every day for months and you hit them with robotic precision. Must. Hit. Macros. And when you don’t, you feel like a failure. Too much stress! Your macros SHOULD change from time-to-time!
MISTAKE NUMBER TWO: Your macros are controlling you. Rather than making flexible food choices, your macros are controlling what you can and can’t eat. Macros shouldn’t dictate your lifestyle.
MISTAKE NUMBER THREE: Giving up if you don’t know how to track something. Macros should allow you the flexibility to enjoy a homemade cookie or spoonful of dip that doesn’t have precise macros attached to it. If it’s not flexible, it’s not working.
MISTAKE NUMBER FOUR: You don’t enjoy what you’re eating. You’ve got a set meal plan or list of foods that hits your macros precisely and allows no flexibility. You’re bored and frustrated. This is the opposite of how macros are designed to work.
Macro nutrition is a lifestyle nutrition TOOL. The point is to help you feel confident making food choices you actually enjoy and to give you the flexibility to enjoy eating out when you like. You should not feel like a macro robot. That’s not sustainable.
When using macros as a tool for weight loss, think about the long game. Consider being a bit more flexible, adding in some of your favorite foods, and working the rest of your day around them. Macros are designed to work with you and your lifestyle, not against!
