This Country star Daisy May Cooper has apologised for posting pictures with a caption that caused offence.
The comic uploaded the photos yesterday (Sunday, January 10) and was soon met with a backlash from some.
Daisy May, 34, from Cirencester, had her son Jack in September and is now on a post-Christmas diet.
While some people showed support for her weight loss, her choice of words in the caption caused offence.
She wrote: “Anyone else doing keto?
She continued: “My mate Sarah and my da suggested I give it a try and im shocked at how quickly weight is dropping off.
“Forgive the s**** mirrors and grey bra and the fact im not standing in the same position so I look like a m***** on the right …
“And don’t panic… im not going to be promoting any s*** weight loss dvds or products. Pic on the right taken 1st of Jan. Be grateful for any keto tips, only diet I’ve ever really enjoyed.”
Her use of a derogatory term for people with dwarfism quickly prompted an outcry and the star later apologised.
She deleted the post today (January 11) and issued the following apology on her Instagram story: “I should know better and I’m extremely sorry.
“Thank you so much to everyone who called me out on it. Love you all.”
The comedian is well-known and admired for her frank nature, having risen to fame in This Country and appearing on Task Master and Celebrity Gogglebox.
She has been using the keto diet to lose wight – a regime which involves eating proteins and fats and avoiding carbs.
