So because of my health issues, going to the gym wasn’t an option for me. So, I decided to start walking every day.
I make it a habit to walk every day for 10-12 kilometres, or clock in 15000-20000 steps without fail. This is usually split between the morning and day, depending on my schedule.
For example, I take 7000 steps early morning, 2000 steps after lunch and another 4000-5000 steps at night, after finishing my dinner.
I also take frequent breaks between my office work and walk around for another 1000 steps. I measure my steps using Google Fit.
Dividing my goals does not overload me and working out seems easier this way.
Fitness secrets I unveiled:
The fitness app I was using before showed that I belonged to the obese BMI category. Now, after walking every day religiously, I have achieved a healthy weight, am happier and more active than before. I feel stress-free too.
The only trick I really adopted was to eat within my calorie limits. I didn’t have to starve or eat specific foods. I just changed the way I eat and observed what went into my plate. Once you achieve a calorie deficit, you will be on track to meet your goals.
